Cabbage is rapidly becoming cheaper in Ukraine

In connection with the rapid decline in the quality of white cabbage in the warehouses of Ukrainian producers, local farmers this week began to massively reduce prices for these products, analysts of the EastFruit project report

Another factor that negatively affects selling prices in this segment was the decrease in demand for cabbage on the Ukrainian market.

It is worth noting that those producers who even before the New Year decided to suspend the sale of white cabbage opened their warehouses, and the supply of this product on the market increased significantly, which also contributed to a decrease in selling prices. So, today the price of white cabbage on the Ukrainian market fell to UAH 6-8/kg ($0.16-0.22/kg), which is on average 17% cheaper than a week earlier.

At the same time, the price of white cabbage in Ukraine is on average 1.5 times lower than at the end of January last year. According to the key players of the market, the decline in demand for cabbage and the decrease in prices for it are typical for Ukraine. At the same time, a temporary increase in the prices of white cabbage will be possible only in case of worsening weather conditions and a significant decrease in average air temperatures.
