During the 26th week of operation of the grain corridor (January 23-29), Ukrainian exporters shipped 608,000 tons of agricultural products from the sea ports of Odesa, which is 32% less than shipments through this channel a week ago. This is stated in the notice of the association “Ukrainian Club of Agrarian Business”.
“The number of ships that were loaded this week was 16 units, which is 3 ships less than a week ago. Thus, the average daily loading in the 26th week of operation of the grain corridor amounted to 2.3 vessels, which is significantly less than the capabilities of the ports of the Odesa region,” experts emphasize.
UCAB noted that despite the low rate of export through this channel, it is extremely necessary to continue the work of the grain corridor, as it is the cheapest, and for some of our partners, the shortest way. The cost of logistics still remains one of the key problems of Ukrainian farmers.
The largest volumes of exports during the 26th week of operation of the grain corridor were:
corn — 55% of exports during this period;
wheat — 36%;
barley – 5%.
Ukrainian products went to the countries of Asia (Israel, China, Saudi Arabia and others), Europe (Italy, the Netherlands, Spain) and Africa (Kenya, Libya).
A total of 18.9 million tons of agricultural products were exported from August 1, 2022 to January 29, 2023.
